Recent Etsy Purchases

Alright, so next up on the blog roll call is my most recent Etsy purchases! I have another that I just received in the mail, but I haven't had time or daylight to photograph it so we'll save that for a future post.

Up first: My new checkbook! Short backstory- I recently used my last check in my complimentary checkbook that I got from Wells Fargo... for the account I opened in 2005! When I looked at the check number, it turned out that it took me six years to write out a whole 25 checks. That's right. Twenty five. So in celebration, I ordered new checks and I got to pick a new design. Drum roll, please... Disney Villains! Of course it was only logical to get a better checkbook to hold my new checks in! Enter The Purse Peddlers and their affordable and simple leather checkbook.

It does its job perfectly, is made very well, and was only $15! I have some more pictures for another post and will do a seller spotlight on them. Great little shop!

Next up: headbands! I'll get some 'in action' pictures as I wear them.

These are Mixbaby headbands from Mixbaby Designs. I love these headbands- they are the best design I've found! I love that the elastic is covered in the same fabric and how you can get them bigger or smaller depending on the size of your head. They are easy to wear (I can't wear regular headbands, they give me headaches!) and super cute- the designer, Terri W. Jones, is always updating fabrics and styles. Another plus is that she includes instructions on how to do her cute little 60's style hairdo! I love it!

Last but not least, an awesome hand stamped silver pendant from Intentionally Me.

Look how cute the little gift box is! This particular necklace is stamped 'Gage' with a little heart at the end. I purchased it as a gift for my cousin. She is currently 5 months pregnant with a little boy and they are naming him Gage. I got the idea originally from a coworker that had the same kind of necklace when she was pregnant with her little girl.

It was very easy to order and completely customizable- I chose the little tag pendant because it was something I knew my cousin would wear, and it will be easy to add additional name tags when she has more babies! I absolutely love how it turned out and my cousin was so excited when I gave it to her. I will definitely be back for more hand stamped items from Intentionally Me! The customer service is outstanding and the choices are endless.

So there it is. That's it for today- not too shabby of a haul, eh?

What are some of your recent Etsy buys?

I've come to wish you an unhappy birthday...

... just kidding! I really love that song, though, and I wish I had someone I disliked enough to sing it to them on their birthday! OK, mean girl thoughts are over for now.

What is this post really about? My birthday (which was last week, February 10th) and birthday gifts! Since I turned 24 this year, I guess suddenly birthdays are supposedly not as important anymore... well not to me!

Drum roll please...

First up, my boyfriend! Lets see how he fared:

These are the flowers he sent to my work- orchids and bamboo! And I haven't murdered them yet!

And this is the necklace he got for me. I have had my eye on it for a long time, I love floating hearts and this one can have a secret message stamped on the inside! Can you guess what mine says? ;) Want one of your own? Check out the same necklace or other brilliant pieces of jewelry by claychic on Etsy! I think the boyfriend did pretty well!

As far as the parents and other relatives go, I got a lot of green! With said green, I purchased this little beauty:

This is a DKNY rose gold watch with a mother of pearl face and rhinestone accents. I've actually been wanting a Michael Kors rose gold watch, but the $250 price tag was putting me off. Cue entrance- DKNY...

So shiny, so sparkly, so PRETTY. And ON SALE. Originally $175 and I got it for $104. Cha-ching!!

Can you tell I love finding a good deal? I was trying to use the macro setting to get the mother of pearl face to show up, but failed miserably. Please see the stock photo below for better detail:

Edited to add: I also purchased this necklace for myself from Juicy Couture to match my earrings, but it hasn't arrived yet!

So that's it for this year, nothing big or fancy but everything I wanted! What are you looking forward to for your birthday/ what did you get on your last birthday?
